Artificial Intelligence (AI) may be used to inform Rare Voices Australia’s (RVA) work and improve efficiency. RVA’s AI Transparency Statement explains our guiding principles for AI usage. This ensures RVA’s use of AI aligns with stakeholder expectations and how we work as the national peak body for Australians living with a rare disease.
Guiding Principles
RVA’s use of AI is risk informed. The risk of using AI is assessed in the context of the following guiding principles:
Person-centred: the use of AI will not compromise RVA being person-centred in our work.
Credibility and integrity: the quality, reliability and accuracy of outputs will be fair, inclusive and unbiased, and informed by reputable evidence.
Ethical use: The use of AI will not be inconsistent with RVA’s philosophy or code of conduct and will respect any intellectual property/other rights of others.
Data protection: privacy and security of information entered into/from the AI system will be adequately safeguarded.
Transparency: appropriate transparency or other statements regarding the use of AI will be communicated with users of information.
Accountability and human oversight: all uses of AI must have some level of human oversight. The extent of human oversight will be proportionate to the level of risk.
Acknowledgement and Transparency
Where information is substantially AI enhanced or AI generated, and shared externally, acknowledgements of the use of AI will be cited.
